Installation Technician

Position Summary

Our Service & Installation Technicians are our partners in delivering the best possible solution to our customers. They own the work they do and leverage their knowledge of our products and policies to ensure that the job is done right the first time. They have an attention to detail to guarantee that all site protocols and health and safety standards are followed and can deal with the growing demand for our products and services.

Site Preparation/Installations

  • Attend clients’ sites to install, maintain or repair all company systems including video monitoring systems.
  • Check to ensure all systems are online when attending a site, noting any malfunctions and notifying their direct Supervisor and/or Operations management of all issues.
  • Document and maintain accurate records of all work performed on a site and submit daily reports as required using email, ticketing systems, and other technology tools.
  • Work with the Monitoring Centre to ensure the best camera sight lines, that cameras are correctly focused, and alarms are properly set up on each installation.
  • Knowledgeable and adheres to all company policies, procedures, protocols and Health and Safety requirements

Warehouse Management

  • Perform warehouse duties as assigned, including assisting with device configuration and system preparation.

Equipment Management/Maintenance

  • Maintain and repair all equipment as needed to guarantee that it is working as required
  • Ensure company vehicles are kept in good working condition and notify their direct Supervisor and/or the Operations management of any deficiencies.
  • Ensure sufficient equipment is in the vehicle in order to complete assigned daily tasks as well as carry out any other maintenance or repair issues that arise while on a site.
  • Ensure daily vehicle and boom assembly safety checks are performed and recorded.

Ad-Hoc Work

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Working Conditions

  • Outdoors 80% of the time and working in all weather condition at client sites.
  • Driving in all weather conditions from office to jobsite.
  • Flexibility to work beyond regular working hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. as well as at least one weekend per month, depending on customer commitments

Keys to Success

  • Excellent physical condition as the job requires lifting of equipment overhead weighing upwards of 50 lbs.
  • No fear of heights to operate a boom & scissor lifts to conduct installations. Installations and service are also completed from ladders.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with internal and external parties
  • The ability to troubleshoot analog and IP systems based CCTV systems
  • Basic knowledge of TCP/IP networking and computer hardware
  • A valid Ontario driver’s licence, an annual driving record abstract from MTO and a police background check
  • The ability to work independently and to prepare all necessary documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • A good knowledge and adherence to site protocols and Health and Safety policies and practices
  • Self-motivated and committed to continuous learning
  • Ability to work effectively independently
  • Experience driving heavy vehicles ( >10,000 lbs)


  • 2+ years previous experience as a camera installer, low voltage installer, or service technician in security, access control or CCTV industries would be an asset.
  • Completion of a security manufacturers certified training program would be an asset
  • Completion of IP networking courses, or holding Network+ or CCNA certificate would be an asset.


  • Post secondary education in a technology related field with an emphasis on computer/IT skills.

Sales Engineer

Position Summary

Sales Engineers are the primary technical resource for the field sales force. Sales Engineers are responsible for actively driving and managing the technology evaluation stage of the sales process, working in conjunction with the sales team as the key technical advisor and product advocate for our products. The Sales Engineer must be able to articulate technology and product positioning to both business and technical users. Must be able to identify all technical issues of assigned accounts to assure complete customer satisfaction through all stages of the sales process. Must be able to establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist the sales team (Account Executives, and Major Accounts) in a pre-sales role to qualify, manage, and close sales opportunities.
  • Performs discovery, analysis of business needs and definition of client requirements in conjunction with the Account Executives to determine technical requirements for project work, as well as ascertain fit and suitability of our other products, including managed services, within the client network.
  • Works with the IT staff to convey requirements to the client and provide insight into the technical options available for network and server infrastructure. The role will also aid in designing leading-edge solutions containing a wide variety of technologies.
  • Works closely with the Account Executives to determine requirements, counts, and configuration of our managed service offerings in order to provide a cost effective and comprehensive managed solution.
  • Confirms that products meet the prospect’s requirements and will assist sales in technical qualification. Throughout the proposal process, the Sales Engineer will articulate and demonstrate solutions, influence customer’s technical requirements, and position products relative to competition.
  • Assist the R&D team with introducing new product lines to the sales department
  • Assist in the completion of RFP/RFQ bids
  • Utilize system design tools as needed to design system layouts
  • Review sales quotes and confirm equipment lists are correct
  • Provide pre-sales support to customers and communicate with clients’ technical team as needed
  • Assist in creating and implementing proof on concepts for clients
  • Assist account executives by answering technical questions and making technical presentations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned

  • A post-secondary degree/diploma in business or equivalent college technical degree.
  • Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a related field
  • Previous sales experience in a small to mid-size entrepreneurial environment

Security Video Monitoring Operator

$15 an hour

Must be able to work 12-hour night shifts from 6pm to 6am throughout the week

Job Summary

You are highly attentive to detail as you will be assigned a number of clients’ sites to monitor on our large video screens. You will be in charge of dealing with various emergency services to respond to security events taking place at our clients’ sites. In this role will also maintain accurate records and reports of all site security incidences and provide written updates for relieving personnel or incoming shift(s)
